Moving hard drive
Hoping someone can help. I have set the old drive up as slave and this is recognised by vista disk management. However, it has no drive letter and is not recognised by my computer so I can't access any of the files. The only action I can access is delete volume. I really need to access some of the programmes and files from the old hd.
Can anyone help? Peter |

Re: Moving hard drive
Was it working before? . . How do you have it connected. I find I have the best luck if I connect the older IDE drive to the secondary channel . . temporarily disconnect the Optical drives and use that ribbon.
If it is still not recognized, in Disk Management, Right click on the drive . . select Properties . . click on the Tools tab and then Error checking . . put a check in both boxes and let it run chkdsk . . it might take a while

Re: Moving hard drive
Hi,
It sounds like you have to repair the partition table. Have a look at this: http://www.techsupportforum.com/hard...-computer.html |

Re: Moving hard drive
Hi. Im the administrator. The HD is divided into 2 volumes. Don't have anything under file system for either. Layout-simple both. Type-basic both. Status 1 (Healthy EISA configuration). Status 2 Healthy(Active, Primary partition)
