How can I tell what rps my Hard disk is?

I have two HDD's and I want to know what rps they are. The brand name for both of them is Sea Gate.

I also like to know how accurate these online power supply calculators are? Like they say if I put in the right information they will tell me exactly how much power I need.

You can use Everest to find out all the info about your computer incl the hdd rpm. PSU calculators are generally just a guide since there are many factors to psu selection not taken into account, here at the TSF we tell everyone to add 30% to whatever result you get from the calculator. Ok, I got it! Is it RPS or RPM? It says my 40 GB's hard disk rotational speed is 7200 RPM and my 4 GB hard disk speed is 5400 RPM.

The other things installed in my computer are a 16x DVD rom, floppy drive, three ram chips (256, 256 and 512 MB's), Graphic card of Inno3d model 5500 256 MB, Lan is built in my mother board but it doesn't have a built in display card in it. It also has a built in sound card like most of the boards have. (The brand is Asus) And my processor is of Intel with a speed of 2.4.

Now tell me how much power do I need? Please specify the names of some good but cheap brands of power supplies too. I can't really afford an expensive PSU. Thank you.

You should have about a 400-450W psu for that, despite the calculator results of 300W, that will leave you some room to add a hdd or two and a better cdrw or dvdrw later on. PSu's are best when stressed to no more than 70% of their rating.

Your power supply rating should be greater than 312.5 watts. I suggest adding 30 watts, which would be 342.5 watts, for future expansion.

Currently, I am using 300 watts PSU and without the 256 MB graphic card, everything is working fine. Only the required 3.3 v is coming 3.0 but when I put my 256 MB video it falls below 2.96 sometimes and then I get a warning from Asus probe. (Regardless of the warning things do work fine)

I am not a great fan of installing new things in my computer so I am guessing I would be having these things for a long time without making any additional changes. So just tell me, would 350 be enough to make ends meet?

I just want this 3 v or 2.992 v to go to 3.3 or above. The rest is all good. All the other figures are coming normal. They are both above 12 and above 5. Vcore is 1.573.

350w would be the bare minimum from a quality psu, cheap psu's of that wattage usually fail and take out other components, Your voltage drop with the gpu installed says that your current 300W unit is living on a fine edge. check out the...

Man, the current PSU I am using is 300 watts and like you rightly said it's living on the edge. My other PSU is of 350 watts which I need to get fixed. Don't you think 350 would be enough to bring that 2.992 or 3.0 v figure to 3.3 and above?

Like I said I just want to bring this 3.0 figure above 3.3 v. That's all.

But when I put my 350 one in my computer even the other figures are coming below 5 and 12 in the other departments and there is no improvement in the 3.0 issue too. So that's why I am planning to take my 350 watts PSU to a PSU repair man and see if he could make it give out the right voltage as it should.
