SATA vs SATA 2
hi! i have a faulty SATA HDD (yes u guessed it's Maxtor) and i'm about to buy a new one before i loose all the data. My motherboard says it supports 2 x UltraDMA 100/66/33 and 2 x Serial ATA Function. Does this mean that i cant use SATA2? I am not sure i my motherboard supports SATA2... Or the motherboards which support SATA automatically support SATA 2? I have an Asus P5P800 Proactive series. ( 865PE/ICH5). Thank you for your Help

Re: SATA vs SATA 2
well from a quick google it tells me you only have SATA1 support. You can buy SATA2 drives but you will have to move the jumper on the back to throttle it back to SATA 1
