Re: New WD hard drive not detected !!
Is it sata or an ide drive? How do you have it hooked up?.... if an ide drive, what channel, the primary or secondary? Is there anything else on the cable? where do you have it located on the cable, the middle or the end?

Re: New WD hard drive not detected !!
Sata drives are quite often just not making connections with the ribbon cable. So, make sure that yours is.....I use cable ties on mine that I sell to make sure they don't wiggle loose which is quite common.
Does it see the drive in the bios setup menu of just not later on? Have you enabled Sata in the Bios setup menu? Did you load drivers at the F6 prompt? Many of these drives require that.
