Confused New SATA no where to be found

Hi folks, I'm hoping someone can help me out on this.

I just added a new 320 gb Hitachi SATA to my PC with XP. At first it was recognized, so I formated it through Disk Management... It took all night and when it was done it said that there was an error in formating. But it it was listed as healthy. I rebooted and now its no where to be found. Its no longer in Disk Management and its not showing up in the bios. I can hear it running. Where did it go?

Re: New SATA no where to be found

try shutting down the computer >>>>> remove the power and data cable from the new drive >>>> re boot / once in windows, shut down again and re-connect

post back what happens after that

check that your cables are secure

Re: New SATA no where to be found

Tried disconnecting it and booting up windows and shutting down and reconnecting. Still no luck. Although it seems to be making a clicking noise now... sounds like a ticking clock. I'm not sure if that means anything.

Thanks
