Question Adaptec 31205 "No logical drives found" ??

I am new in SCSI world, and never touch/know about SCSI stuff before.
I just received my boxed Adaptec 31205, but SAS hdd are still on the way.

At the moment i still use onboard controller to boot my SATA drives (2x Raptor RAID0). I install 31205 and connect a single non-boot Seagate 320gb SATA drive on it for testing. During startup, it detects the drive and show the details (i enable POST). However right after that, it displays:-

No Logical Drives Found
Bios Not Installed!

At the end, the drive does not show up in WinXP. If It can detect the drive, why it says no logical drives found?

I try connect only i-RAM on 31205, it takes about 3 minutes for the card to startup! At the end still the same, displayed the detected drive, and said no logical drives found.

I install DVD-drive on it and everything runs fine.

Please assist, i am too new in SCSI and RAID

Thank you.

Re: Adaptec 31205 "No logical drives found" ??

All right, I found the way to do it. I have to configure the drive as simple volumn to make it work, and the drive will be detected as Adaptec SCSI Array in WinXP.
