400gb actually 150gb?
(no this isnt the 'why do i lose 5% of my hard drive space to formatting, wahh... RETARD question)
New hard drive, its a SATA150 400gb WD hard drive, WD4000YR. Plug it in, unpartitioned, only 150gb. When i first plugged in, and ran WD tools, it said it needed to update my registry to go up from any 137gb drive, did so... and ended up showing up as 150gb. So i checked the BIOS, it only shows 150gb too. I'm using it as secondary drive, so i can function without it... Any suggestions if the bios isnt even showing the right capacity? |

Re: 400gb actually 150gb?
either a BIOS setting is wrong or you need to flash the bios to a new version
check your motherboard manufacturer's website for updates/etc..

Re: 400gb actually 150gb?
check the bios to make sure you have LBA enabled and (if there is an option for it) set to 48bit

Re: 400gb actually 150gb?
tried that, it was on auto already... if i go to manual, my only options for LBA/Large Mode are "auto" and "disabled"...... while on auto, LBA/Large says "supported"... has this whole time...
still no progress... |
