Install SATA drives
I have two 320GB western digital wd3200jd SATA drives that I am trying to install into a ideq 200p with VIA VT6420.
I slipstreamed the drivers into the install and XP installed on the first drive. Then, I went to plug in the other drive and XP froze. I restarted over and over but xp will not boot. When I unplug the 2nd drive everything is fine again. Does anyone have an idea why the 2nd drive is not detected and my system won't boot? Thanks |

Re: Install SATA drives
my guess would be a defective second drive
try this connect only the second drive to the motherboard and see if XP will attempt an install on that one or / go to the hard drive manufacturers website and download their free hard drive diagnostic utility, boot from the utility will only the second drive connected to the system, verify the mechanical health of the second drive
