[SOLVED] Laptop Hard Drive Seems Dead
Hi:
One of my friend's office laptop hard drive seems dead. It was making sounds 2 days back when we were trying to boot the laptop. Boot was very very slow and gave blue screen error. Then she asked the tech support in the office and the guy replied following: "I have bad news on your hard drive. I have tried every way I know how to recover the data but the problem is the drive is physically bad and doesn't even register as being install in the laptop. There is no way to get any data off of this drive or to repair it." Is there any way to recover data from this drive? All your suggestions are most welcome. |

Re: Laptop Hard Drive Seems Dead
As a last resort, you could try putting it in the freezer:
http://geeksaresexy.blogspot.com/200...over-data.html I tried it once on a hard drive for my desktop and it worked. |

If the freezer doesn't work, then the real last resort would be to send it off to a company that specializes in data recovery. This option will cost you, though. So you would need to ask yourself just how important is the data on the drive?

Re: Laptop Hard Drive Seems Dead
This advice is likely too late but may help in some way.
Moroever, you should not try to recover the data using any recovery program. Because recovery programs cannot help in case of physically bad drive. Data Recovery Services is the only option for you. Data recovery companies follow procedures to recover the data and it is best left to them once more. Hope this helps you! |
