Replace IDE Hard Drive with SCSI
I have a U160 RAID controller and a pair of 68pin SCSI drives laying around that I was thinking of installing in my computer. The idea is to replace my IDE Hard drive with the SCSI drives and set up a mirrored partition. The drives are 18GB so they'd only be good for my Windows but here's what I'm thinking:
1. 10K drives will certainly improve OS performance, right? 2. Will the RAID 1 slow down any improvements I might notice from adding the 10K drives? 3. Is U160 fast? 4. How do I terminate the SCSI connection on the RAID card that will be outside of the PC? Thanks for the help, PO |
