Western Digital External USB2 Drive problem
Hi
I have a USB2 WD hard disk at 320GB . Its been working just fine for the past year however just a few days ago i started having problems with it. Now when i plug the USB cable i get the "found new hardware" message in windows xp and seconds later i get the "hardware installed" popup. Now when i go to my computer to open it i dont see the drive. Waiting for a while causes explorer to freeze. The only way to unfreeze it is to remove the cable. When i remove the usb cable i get a windows - delayed write failed error. I tried changing the usb cable but that didnt work I also installed a hotfix from microsoft regarding this issue and that didnt work also. I also uninstalled all the USB controllers and reinstalled them but nothing. I also reformatted windows 3 times but still the same problem Please help Thanks |
