[SOLVED] Western Digital HDD Data Lifeguard Problem
I made the mistake of installing Ontrack to my hard drive and now it reads it in the BIOS as 33GB. I've attempted to use Data Lifeguard Tools' "Set Hard Drive Size" function but I get an error message. This is the gist of it:
"THE SET HARD DRIVE SIZE FUNCTION CANNOT BE EXECUTED NOR IS IT NECESSARY AS THIS DRIVE IS CONNECTED TO AN ADDITIONAL CONTROLLER" I want my HDD to read as 160GB again. I'm not prepared to format at this time though. |

Re: Western Digital HDD Data Lifeguard Problem
Hello
![]() are you able to access your data on the drive right now ???? can you boack-up the data on the drive to another drive so we can wipe & erase the drive and start over ?? what does disk management show the rest of the hard drive beyond the 33gigs as ?????????????????? what is ontrack ???????????? there is a program called getdataback (runtime.org) they have a free scanner, you scan the drive with that scanner, if it can see all of your data and folders and files have proper names, then the paid for version ($39.00 I think ??) will back-up your data to a different drive ????? best regards
