Problem with the hard drive install
My old HD's were starting to fail so I picked up two new HD's and wanted to set them up in a RAID 0 configuration. After installing them, I started the computer and entered bios, set up raid 0 and then went to install windowsXP and it wouldn't boot from disk. Restarted CPU, entered bios, still have raid set and check system hardware and the only two things that has anythin is IDE DVD ROM and IDE CD-ROM, in the SATA rows 1-4 it shows nothing.
What am I doing wrong...it appears that the computer is not reading the drives. |

Re: Problem with the hard drive install
Once RAID is set the drives don't show up in the BIOS. However, you should set the Boot order to CD-ROM first.

Re: Problem with the hard drive install
I'll give a shot...please check back around 5:00 p.m. PST to see if it worked, I'll update then. Thanks (prematurely, but optomistic) again.
Side note: How do I wipe the Hard Drives clean before attempting this. I had used my respawn disc from AlienWare so I know there is data on the discs. |
