[resolved]OS won't boot

Hi everyone, I need help with this I'm running a

Dual Core AMD Opteron Processor165
32 Bit Operating System for vista

my problem is the boot up screen I'm using a Sata Drive to boot up and it works fine by itself until I plug in the IDE Maxtor drive and it would take me to a screen saying "Error Booting OS" I already set the jumper on the Maxtor Drive to secondary. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Re: OS won't boot

I think Dai; nailed your problem!

anytime you add an IDE to a system with Sata drives and No IDE drives, the addition of the IDE drive makes the bios alter the boot priority for your hard drive on its own

so to adjust this problem after you add the IDE drive; you must enter the bios and set the sata drive to boot as second option / the cd-rom is normally set to first boot.

dont forget to save the bios changes / then exit

keep us posted with your progress
