OS: Windows XP (SP2) Media Center Edition

Mistake Errors Continually Happening In Win XP

I have a Acer Aspire 5100 / AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile / 1.60 GHz / 896MB RAM / DVD/RW. Windows XP Media Center Edition V. 2002 (SP2).

I have been having problems with the system for about two weeks. It had got bad on Friday. The problem is that I get the BSOD and it flashes off so fast most times, but I have seen something about physical_memory_dump(?).

When I check event viewer it says:

#1 - EventID #5 - Source atapi : A parity error was detected on \Device\Ide\IdePort0.

#2 - EventID #11 - Source disk : The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\D.

These errors happen together at the same time and there are several of them.

I emailed Acer support and they said to do a resotre which I did and it was fine... I have a external HD that I got about a week ago (still had problems) and it started to get worse. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the other. Last time I had to do a reg edit to get my system IDE out of PIO mode. But it is in DMA now.

I also just got another error EventID 7000 - The eLock2BurnerLockDriver service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

Anyone that can help please let me know. The computer is running off a fresh install right now with the few programs I added. I have done scans of every type but am open to any ideas...

Thanks!!!

*A

Re: Errors Continually Happening In Win XP

This was the advice given in another forum about the error:

"find out the vendor(maker) of the video card download the updated drivers for it and install them"

A Google search for "eLock2BurnerLockDriver" turned up a lot of results. Perhaps that would be the best place to start looking?
