can't detect secondary drive
Okay, I've got a Seagate Barracuda st340014a 40 Gig HDD and a Western Digital Caviar HDD... Seagate is [at the moment, at least...] the primary drive. Now, for some reason, I cannot get the WD drive running in either BIOS or Windows. Both are set to Cable Select. Same cable, Seagate in Master position, WD in Slave. All the cables are connected properly -- I already checked.

Re: can't detect secondary drive
Instead of cable select try setting one to master the other to slave. CS sometimes gives trouble.

Re: can't detect secondary drive
Move the small plastic jumper on the back of the drive from the 'master' pins to the 'slave' pins and attach the slave drive to the middle connector of the same IDE cable as the master.
