/winnt/sys32/os2/dll

Hi all

First time here, I hope im not asking a question thats been recently dicussed.

Firstly, I did a C/drive disc cleanup which i do quite frequently, but this time it got about 75% through and then my pc restarted, it seem to restarting ok untill it started to load windows, it shows the windows start up screen for a couple of seconds, then goes to a blue page which said it couldnt detect the H/D please check that it is plugged in properly or any new hardware has been installed properly, the only hardware that i have installed was another 256 ddr ram which seem fine (was installed 2 weeks previous to my prob and had been running fine)

I tried starting in safe mode and every other way listed under the f8 menu.
but everytime would end up back to the same blue screen.

Ive now reformatted my H/D thinking that it was maybe a virus, it reformats the c/drive ok but as it goes to reinstall windows 2000 it says either 1 or 2 things. 1st is that it cant create /winnt/sys32/os2/dll folder for windows installation, The second is it gets to 3% and then says it cant copy the file: ariali.ttf either skip or retry i retry a few times but still wont copy it, and when i skip the file, it just says it about the next and so on, it will get past 3%. i dont get both these messages at the same time its either 1 or the other seeing ive tryed reinstalling about a dozen times now.

Iam running a pentium 3 - 2 gig cpu - 512 ddr ram 2100 - windows nt 200 pro.

I would appreciate any help that could be offerd thank you
cayne

Re: /winnt/sys32/os2/dll

yes the cd is the first boot device, i am able get into windows setup from the cd, but as soon as it reformats the partition it then says it cant copy the /winnt/sys32/os2/dll folder for windows setup. im thinking maybe my hard drive has broken some how.

Thanks heaps cayne
