can't read HD

After having one computer die on me, I took the hard drive out and put it in as a slave in my other one. Problem is when I look at that hard drive in explorer I don't see everything that should be in there. There is no windows folder plus other programs I know should be there are not. It shows a capacity of 10GB when it actually has 160GB. This was in my original computer as a dual boot system with XP and 98. So when booted I could choose either one. I think this probably has something to do with my problem reading it but I have no idea how to access the whole drive. 98 has some really critical business stuff

Re: can't read HD

Hi, when you swapped the drive over did you remember to change the jumpers? I'll take it you did.
Are both drives jumpered accordingly, i.e. Master & Slave or both Cable Select. If using Cable Select, change to Master & Slave.
Enter your bios and see what info it has on this drive...if it's reading it correctly.
Let us know what you find.

Yes the jumpers are correct, when I enter the bios for the drive it shows the following, size (blank) cyln 16709, head 255, sec 63, pio mode 4, all the rest are on.

Hi,
Below is a link to download some data recovery tools.
