can't read HD
After having one computer die on me, I took the hard drive out and put it in as a slave in my other one. Problem is when I look at that hard drive in explorer I don't see everything that should be in there. There is no windows folder plus other programs I know should be there are not. It shows a capacity of 10GB when it actually has 160GB. This was in my original computer as a dual boot system with XP and 98. So when booted I could choose either one. I think this probably has something to do with my problem reading it but I have no idea how to access the whole drive. 98 has some really critical business stuff

Hi, when you swapped the drive over did you remember to change the jumpers? I'll take it you did.
Are both drives jumpered accordingly, i.e. Master & Slave or both Cable Select. If using Cable Select, change to Master & Slave. Enter your bios and see what info it has on this drive...if it's reading it correctly. Let us know what you find. |
