1.5 to a 3.0 board?
Ive ordered a Asus P5N-E board from ebuyer.co.uk but im unsure now if I need a new hard-drive.
Apparently these boards have SATA 3.0Gb/s connectors, but my old hard drive (which I want to use) is only 1.5Gb/s. Can I just plug it in to the P5N-E and will it recognise it? (My hard drive is a Western Digital WD3200JD) Im very confused

Re: 1.5 to a 3.0 board?
post above is 100% correct your existing hard drive would be compatible
in asmuch as no hard drive on the planet has yet to achieve over 90mb/s there is no spped loss with the 150mb /s drive vs the 300 mb/s its all a theorical speed capability / not an actual you would need to raid four hard drives together to break 100mb/s in a sustained read & write !!
