Can't read Hard Drive
Have a M6809 E-machine Laptop. My sister bought a identical machine. They had probelms with it and did not buy an extended warranty. The techs tell them that it was the hard drive. Brother in law could not get it going so it was sent to me ( hard drive )a new HD not the oringinal. I formatted the HD and installed WIN HP Home in my machine with his Restore DVD and everything worked up to that point. He received the HD but could not get his machine to work. He has sent the machine and the original HD to me. I placed the HD in a caddy and could not see it ( verify that it was toast ). I placed a known good HD in his machine and I could not get the BIOS to read the drive. What to do. I see from a post that it was suggested to check the connections - How do I do that? Pins look OK on the HD and it will work in my caddy.
