WD MyBook Pro problem
Hi -
I just bought a Western Digital MyBook Pro 250 gb triple interface drive for my g4 Powerbook running Mac OS 10.4. I hooked it up out of the box and it mounted fine. Reformatted the drive as HFS+ with two partitions - still no problems. I then unmounted both partitions and unhooked the drive. A little later I hooked the drive back up and it would not mount on the computer. There is no sign that the drive is even powered on - the lights on the front do not turn on and the drive does not appear to spin up. It does not appear in Disk Utility or System Profiler. For all intensive purposes it appears completely dead. I have tried it on another ocmputer and still nothing. After reading mainly positive reviews on this drive before buying it, I now searched a little harder and see many people have had problems. Any suggestions? Or should I just return it? If so any ideas for a replacement? Everything I check out has a number of people who have had bad experiences.... Thank You! |
