hey fellas
ok .. my system specs are below but i will explain what i am tryin to do I want to format my 2 x WD 160gb SATAII HD's in a RAID0 striped array. My os is XP SP2 and I have a ASUS p5b deluxe mobo I believe my RAID controller (on board) is actually a JMICRON Can anyone help me with any of the following 1. What SATA sockets should the 2 HD be connected to for RAID0 array? I have 6 normal sockets (4 master, 2 slave) and 1 extra SATA RAID socket. 2. If i started from scratch what (basic) steps should i take to set up my system? thanks Ian

Hello Ian,
I think you have an intel controller on that board and that is actually the one I would setup your raid on. A basic out line would be as follows boot into bios and enable intel raid ( after making sure you are plugged into SATA 1 and 2 ) F10 to save and exit bios Make sure you have your intel raid drivers on a floppy you made from your mobo disk upon rebooting hit CTRL I to enter the intel raid utility follow prompts to setup your raid 0 insert your XP cd and once it boots and starts the install process look out for the F6 prompt and this will enable you to install the Intel raid drivers from your floppy continue with XP install and once done install your chipset drivers and intel raid utility and the rest of your required drivers That is a basic out line
