laptop hdd

when i boot up my laptop it comes up with a message saying a disk read error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart. i understand that i need a new hdd but there is information on this one that i need. i can access the bios and boot menue but i cant boot up an o/s disk. if anyone knows a way to get information from my laptop please let me know. thanx

ive sorted the problem thanks. although im havin trouble with my wireless but i need to download more drivers for my laptop i will let you know how it goes. cheers
