Screeching Sound...HD about to Fail?

Hi,

This has happened for 3 days now and I have been hearing these weird screehing noises much like when a wheel of some sort has not been oiled and makes that noise. What could it be? I'm suggesting it could be a Hardrive. Thoughts/Opinions? It only makes the sound occasionally maybe every 2-3 minutes

I have:

1 X Seagate 80GB SATAII
1 X Maxtor 200gb SATAI
1 X 320GBKS Western Digital SATAII

My System

Yea it's one of your hard drives, I'd back up any important data ASAP, and although it doesnt necessarily mean its gonna break (mate had a similar problem and drive lasted for a year and still is, he just replaced it because noise was annoying), but be prepared just in case, I think its the cogs that spin the disk that make the screech.

Listen closely the hard drives. If they do (one of them) the sound then be prepared that it may die soon :)
However when I first time heard funny noises from my case it was only the graphics card's fan what needed some oil only, and I thought it is the hdd :)

So make sure 100% the noise is coming from the hdds before panicing :)

Thanks for all your input guys. I will be looking into my case and putting my ear against the HDs. I do not hear it now though. I hope its one of my fans.
