external hard drive
Hello everybody
I was just curious to know why my new computer always disconects my external hard drive when I turn the computer of or when I restart the computer. I had before a laptop and it never happened like this and now I am a little worried about this problem. Can anyone give me some advice. Thanks in advance |

newer revisions of windows will always power down a USB drive before shuttign down, this is actually proper
although your USB connected drive will fare better if you wait until the machine is booted before connecting it, and power down the drive with the tray icon USB "Stop" command before power shutdown.
