installed new hard drive and
hi all i installed a new hard drive and was working fine but slow since i went up to 160 gig western digital, but ram was only 256, so i added a 512(the right kind) and now when i fire her up she goes in i guess bios page where it shows memory and all that . it shows the new ram there but then it wont go to windows. it says start from cd , if i try to reinstall windows it says hard disk drivers not found , what gives, thanks, bufmaz1

While installing the RAM you may have knock something loose. Check the cable connections going to the motherboard and the harddrive. Let us know what you find.

The data cable for a Sata drive is usually flat and about 1/2" wide while the cable for an EIDE drive is either a flat cable about 2to 2 1/2" wide or could be a round cable about 1/2" round
