Installing multiple HD's

I have an HP x4000 workstation with a 70gb Sata hd. I want to add two 250 ata drives for extra storage. When I plug both of them up (both jumpers are set to cable select) and let it boot up, I get a SMART failure. If I enter setup, neither of the drives show up in the ide devices. When I plug in only one hd (doesn't matter which one), it works fine. Am I missing something or some setting I need to change? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

My System

Try set the jumpers on the drive to master and slave instead of CS

Make sure the drive jumperd as master is on the end of the ide cable and the drive jumperd as slave is in the middle.

Hope that fixes it
