You can partition and format the drive with the WinXP installation disk. You can also use the Seagate DiscWizard program to partition and format the drive. There is no need to convert the drive. Just format as NTFS.

If this is an external drive you can simply partition and format it in Windows Disk Management.
Right click My Computer, click Manage, click Disk Management. In the right side you will see the drive. You can partition and format it there.

shucks!

once you have selected how many partitions you want and format them you cant add more from within Disk management! sorry

when you deleted the partition there went the whole format process

if you want multiple partitions I suggest you look into a freeware partitioning program like ranish partition manager to partition your drive into the "chunks" you desire then you can format each partition from within windows

there is a Program called Partition Magic that also does this, but its not a free program ???????????????

http://www.majorgeeks.com/Ranish_Par...ger_d1145.html

dont hesitate to ask more questions and enjoy your leanring experience; sometimes we get in such a hurry trying to accomplish our goal we forget to enjoy the challenge
