hard drive installation
Im not very smart when it comes to computers, so bear with me. I have a Dell Dimension 3000 and yesterday I bought a Seagate 250GB internal hard drive at Best Buy.
Before I bought the hard drive I took imy computer to the Geek Squad area in Best Buy. I asked them if it was even possible for me to add an extra hard drive or not. They said yes, but that I needed to buy another piece. They were pointing at a certain area (I circled this area in red in the picture below) What im wondering is what exactly is this "piece" that I need? I was looking at this. Is that the right item I need? It looks exactly the same as the case that my current hard drive is in (circled in blue in the picture below) And is there anything else I need? Becuase in the picture I posted below, in the area where my current hard drive is (circled in blue), I see a green board in there. What is that? Im guessing that its part of the hard drive, on the back, but im not sure because I havent opened my new hard drive ortaken the case off of my current one.

Yes thats what you need, you mount the drive in the enclose and the mount it to the chaise.
You will need screws and if this is a sata drive a cable but if its ide you should be able to but it on the ribbon cables middle connector and set the jumper on the drive to slave The green board you see is part of the drive |
