A8N32-SLI+2 SATA HDD (non-raid)

Hey all:

was just wondering if someone could give me some insight into hooking up a second harddrive on an A8N32-SLI board? What are some things to expect when hooking up a 2nd drive? Any formating involved? etc, etc.

I dont want to RAID them, just have one as C: and the other as an X:

Im looking into getting a WD Raptor 150g SATA. I am currently running a Seagate Barracuda 200g.

Thanks all

Hi,

That should be no problem with this board (which is an excellent board, by the way). If you will look under my Signature for the SATA link and open it and read that by Blackduck30, you will have a good idea what you need to do. If you have questions after reading that, please post back.

I had one Maxtor SATAI 80GB HDD installed on SATA1 connector and it worked fine. Recently I've purchased two WD Caviar 320GB SATAII HDDs and still can't make them work...they work on Silicon Image SATA controller, but not on nForce4...:(:(
