Hi babssybabe. Welcome to TSF!
![]() The first thing that comes to mind here is perhaps you might have a 'short' between the tower casing and the motherboard. So, to diagnose this issue, you will need to take the motherboard out of the tower case, and set it up on a piece of cardboard, with only the bare minimum of components attached. The bare minimum would be: CPU + Heatsink/Fan RAM 1x HDD 1xCD-ROM, and of course the power connections from the Power Supply Unit. Now power it up and see if you get the CPU Fan spinning...if this occurs; turn it off. Reinstall the motherboard and make sure that all the mounting screws are insulated with either plastic or fibre washers. Continue assembling the system, ensuring that all the IDE Ribbons and Molex Power plugs are firmly plugged in. Once this is done, connecting; the monitor to the onboard graphics; keyboard; mouse etc., try powering it up again. Report back here with the results thus far.

Try it with the old power supply if it works fine your problem is with the new power supply. Make sure it's delivering enough voltage to safely power your computer. If your computer demands 400 watts, and you are only supplying 350, it will not work.
