I have just checked everest and my temperatures results are:

CPU 40°C
HD 46°C

However I have noticed onthe SMART Tab of storage sction there is a red cross against Spin Retry Count,

Threshold 97
Value 96
Worst 96
Pre-Failure: Imminent loss of data is being predicted

How bad is this.......?

Is this likely to be the root cause of all my problems? Or do you still suspect the PSU?

Will xxclone be able to do this job?

probably both just do the drive first and then see where you are at
the drive manafacturer usually has a utility available on their d/l page to accomplish the transfer,if you buy a retail box it is usually on the cd that comes with the drive

Replaced and cloned my hard drive, my new one sounds so quiet in comparison, must not have noticed it gradually gettong louder. Since I have done this I have had zero problems, however I'm still running on the mobos graphics.

I have a new graphics card on order but for now, hopefully I have put some if not all of my problems to bed.

Thanks to you all for you great help.
