Sata?

I just built a new system and have never used sata before. But I purchased a Seagate Barracuda 250 GB hard drive from newegg. It runs SATA 3.0 along with my mobo, but it only registers as 130 gb. Is this something to do with sata? I'm stumped.

have you installed the windows sp2

Use the hd install disk and partition your drive prior to installing windows.
