Can i play files from an external hard drive?

Hello everybody,

I recently bought an 80GB external hard drive from currys. I want to know if i can play music files directly from the external hard drive, so in my media player the file path would be E:\Music\Don Campbell\You're No Good.mp3 or whatever.

I have tried this, and it works fine. I just don't know if its safe, maybe it takes up too much cpu process or something

any ideas?

I don't see why not, its just the same cables etc as being inside the case.

It will work fine. I do this with my MP3 player all the time, which is basicly the same except that its an MP3 player and not a hard drive.
