help with command promt

hi the problem i have with my computer is that whenever i try starting up it goes to this blue screen that has 'while initializing device ifsmgr windows cannot find the helper drive ifshlp.sys' i tried using a boot disk but when i put it in it shows this screen
1. help
2. start without cd rom support
3. with cdrom support
4. and minimal boot
at the bottom of the screen there is shift + f5 command promt, something for safemode and step by step configuration. i want to know what do you type in when you go to command promt. can someone please help. i really need this computer running!!!! thank you i know nithing when it comes to computers.

1st try to in safe mode and see if you can run system restore.
If this does not work, a repair install of Windows me would be your best option..

Smile help with command promt

i tried it in safe mode and it shows me the screen where you enter commands. A:\ something like that and what am i supposed to do once this shows please help. thanks

and what do i need to do in order to do a repair install of windows me. like i said i know nothing about computers but using them.

If you put your Windows me disk and restart the computer it should boot from the cd. If not, post back.
