strange problems

about a month ago i was plauged by a problem wiht my hard drives which ended up needing Zeroing. out of my three drives i did two of them and left the third untill after a holliday. now that i have come to so the third one ive found a problem.

when i put the IDE cable into the drive, the computer boots but the screen does not come out of standbuy mode. ive tryed this on different power rais incase it was the graphics card not getting power, but with no luck.

what on earht could this be!?

clear the drive with dban
http://sourceforge.net/projects/dban/
and see if it will boot up and format

I have boot and nuked the drive once, a while agoo. but the big problem is that to boot and nuke it i will need to be able to see what im doing, but with this drive attached there is no way the screen will show.

is it on it's own on a cable

at the moment its on the IDE1 channel with my primary drive.
i will try on its own cable tomorow morning.
