Need some help on the new SATA Hard Drives
hey guys i installed xp pro on my system and everything is running just one problem i have two hard drives .... and it only sees one of them in xp so it looks like this i have one that has been formated blah blah
so i have 137 gb C drive and 20gb d drive but my other hard drive that i have in my computer says its there on my motherboard says its working properly just dont know how to get it to show up so i can use it to tell you how i have it all set up i have one in sata 1 and one in sata 2 but number 2 hard drive wont show? so im kinda sad because im missing a whole hard drive can someone help me out.

it sounds to me as if you will need to partition and format the drive. You need to partition the drive even if you want that drive just one big chunk, thats still considered a partition. here is how to get there: right click on my computer and select "manage" from teh upper part of the drop down list then in the left pane choose "disk management" then in the right pane (upper half of right pane) you should see your drive thats is "hiding" from you>>> right click on the hiding drive and select format from the drop down list >>> then select NTFS file system >>>> dont format partitions larger than 32gig as FAT-32 with windows disk managment >>>> always use NTFS !
