I lost 8GB hard disk space
Hi,
I would like to mention a discrete problem that i have been facing with my hard disk space. Firstly let me describe you about my computer configuration. Mine is a assembled computer. Mercury- Mother board ATTA- Hard disk of 40 GB Operating system- Windows XP service pack 2 professional I lost my 8 GB hard disk space for the first time when i was formating my system. When i started the formating my system. there were 4 partitions. I deleted all the partisions and again distributed space into 4 partitions again. But i could find that only 32 GB of space in the hard disk is only shown. I I installed the operating system and i formated it again to get the remaining space. But it again showed 32 GB of space only. I dont understand whether it is a hardware or software problem. Can u plzz guide me to solve this problem. From them i started another problem of computer getting slow down for each month of formating the system. So i am formatting the system each month. Plzz i request some one to solve this problem |

hard drive manufacturers measure a gig slightly different to most of us,they round it down to a 1000
this makes the drive look larger than it is then when you format and partition this uses more space i just fitted a 320g drive and lost 22g before doing anything with it also if you formatted fat 32 it will only see 32gig even if it is a 1000gig h/d
