installing hdds from one pc to another

Ok i have a dell computer with one sata hard drive in it and i want to install 2 more ide hdds into it from my other no longer working computer but the newer pc that i want to put them in has no more ide plugin sockets and the jumpers are different. There also seems to only be one more hard drive slot instead of two. I was hoping someone could either explain to me or point me to where i could read up and learn what i have to do to be able to install these hard drives. thanks.

Hello:

food for thought and a startign point for your research

look into a PCI slot IDE controller card >>>> avoid the cheap junk >>> you can get a top shelf PROMISE brand IDE controller card which will give you plenty of additional ide channels with no hassle and no perfromance lost >> all you need is an avaialble PCI slot on your motherboard and approx $40.00

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16816102027

you can connect four ide devices with this one >>> it has two ide channels; each channel will control a master and a slave; these cards are also bootable in a standard IDE / sata way >>>>> if you want to make a raid bootable set-up you would need the raid card instead of the IDE card.

you can also mount your hard drives into the 5.25 inch device bays if you have an open avaialble one ??

these are all first class aproaches; no cob jobbing !! if you want to investigate other avenues give us a holler.
