My Old XP home system is running on a old 40 gig HD, I want to move/copy my XP home system to my new 80 gig HD and then keep the old 40 gig drive as a slave for storage.
What does the forum suggest is the best way??

check out xxclone in my sig (30 day free trial period)
the whole process is kindergarten easy >>>> make sure you click on the advanced button on the main console >>> then put a check mark in the three bootable options boxes enjoy and let us know how you like the program

Geeeze linderman ----- I must be under the kindergarten easy level.
I followed the menu instructions and ended up with a non bootable condition, and "Yes" I did the MBR as recommended. I try it again on another computer in a week or so -- before condemning it totally.

Ok lets review the steps
there are only two consoles to work in; The main console and the advanced sub-console in the main console you must select these items: Source drive = the bootable drive you want to clone Target Drive: the drive you are going to turn into a COPY of the boot drive select type of back-up = you want to select "Full bootable back-up" then go into the advanced and put a check mark in ALL three bottable options boxes >>>> thats it !! hit the start button. FYI: you cant clone to a USB external drive and have it be bootable: windows is not bootable on a USB external drive : is this the glitch ??
