Cd drive is not recognizing cds!! all of the sudden!

ok so earlier today i installed tiger woods pga tour 2005 and was playing it....i get home and try to play and all of the sudden it wont recognize any game or cd.....does anyone have any clue what might be wrong? i tried restarting it...and turning it off...

try uninstalling then reinstalling the game
are you working with sp2?

check your device manager, see if there is a yellow alert by your rom listing.

check my computer and see if it is detecting your cd drive?? if not check IDE connectors and check bios

ok to the first reply.....

i cant uninstal and reinstal the game...it doesnt recognize the cd how am i supposed to reinstal it? i dont know what sp2 is....

and device manager says its working properly

to the second reply..
yes it detects my drive and i have no clue what bios is.

could it be that their is just dust on the lens? do i need to take the side of my pc to see the drive?

...you get a cd lens cleaner from a place like radio shack ..and put the rom cleaner disk in the tray.. and then close the tray.
