Realtek Audio Driver Not Installing
Okay, I'm currently trying to install the Realtek Audio Driver on a system, yet no matter what I try, it never works.
The system in question is running Windows XP w/ SP2, is using a MSI MS-7145 Mobo (version 200). If a solution cannot be found for this is there any possible way to get a hold of a driver that will allow the VIA AC'97 Audio Controller (WDM) to load. I have attempted to replace the Realtek driver with the VIA through the Add Hardware Wizard. The VIA shows up in my device manager, yet it also gives me an error code 10, saying that the device cannot load. Any support I can have to help me gain a solution to this problem would be greatly appreciated |

The board you have i am familiar with. It's a board used in eMachines like this one here and it has the ATI Express 200 chipset. The ones i have seen in person did not have a VIA Realtek AC97 controller. Actually they had pain old Realtek AC97 ALC655 drivers that worked with regular Realtek drivers from the Realtek site. Pop off the side of your case and look the the mainboard. Look for the Audio controller chip. Here is a pic i made of where to look.
