New User Help...please!! Sony Dcr-pc101e With No Drivers

I recently bought a secondhand Sony DCR_PC101E, it came with all cables (USB) etc but unfortunately no CD. I use Windows XP and have checked the Sony website for a download but it doesn't seem to work!!!

So, basically what i'm looking for is advice as to where i can find both firewire and USB driver downloads..

Do you mean you couldn't find a driver or that the driver doesn't work.Sony DCR_PC101E.

ok i'm trying to download it again from your link....heres hoping!

oh by the way do you need the Pixela imagemixer or can i use premiere 6 or pinnacle studio??

oh and yes i previously found the driver on sony...tried downloading it but it wouldn't un-zip ...well it did but kept skipping back to the un-zip screen and therefore i couldn't access the exe file!

ok...still no joy...now getting the message:-

"The software you are installing for this hardware:
Sony Digital Imaging
has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with windows xp......

blah blah blah"

Any ideas?? i'm totally stuck now :(

thanks for getting back to me so quickly...right done that clicked continue. once it had completely downloaded i opened the file ...and there's 8 files within it...i double clicked the set-up file and it downloaded everything then asked me to restart my pc....did this...once it was up and going again i popped my USB cable into my camcorder and the pc..

pc recognised sony had been inserted into the usb, but......

when i opened premiere 6 and tried to capture my stuff it couldn't find the camcorder!

so....sorry to go on like this....but, then i tried to capture on studio version 9...again ...nothing!

HELPPPPPP!!!!

:) i don't know what happened, went away for a few mins, made a cup of tea , came back and now everything is ok....i can't believe it...thank you for all your help Peter :-)
