Which Driver Do I Need?
I'm using an onboard soundcard, and when I run Everest, it identefies the sound device as an Intel 82801EB ICH5 - AC'97 Audio Controller. I've been searching for drivers for hours, and I haven't been able to find anything that worked. I remember before I formatted my PC I used SoundMAX, but now I can't find any reliable sites to download it from, and it wasn't very stable to begin with (gave me problems with lots of games).

The drivers for your onboard sound should be on the mobo cd, or if you don't have it you could look them up on the mobo mfg's website for the latest version. If your computer mobo is branded by say Dell or HP you'll have to go to their site for drivers as re-branded mobos typically use modified drivers from the computer mfg. You cannot use both onboard sound and a pci soundcard at the same time, you must also enable onboard audio in the bios. And, depending on the game, you may have to select lower audio quality in the game that best reflects what the onboard audio will support.

mobo = motherboard, you can use a free download from http://www.sisoftware.net/ called SANDRA to id which motherboard you have, then go to the appropriate site, like Intel, for the latest drivers spesific to that motherboard.
