FASTTRAK 378 Issue
Hi,
I have an issue that I hope someone can help me. I have an AWESOME 6300 with 2GB of memory. The motherboard is a ASUS sk8n with the 378 RAID controller. Windows XP Sp2 OS 32 bit. I have the AMD64 chip. One day out of the blue, my machine came up with the error that the Windows\system32\system file was corrupted. I cannot boot up. So it tells me to use Windows setup and do a repair. In order to do that, I had go a get the FASTTRAK 378 RAID driver and load using F6 during the setup process. I got the drivers (1.0.037) and loaded when then the setup requests them. When it is time go perform the repair, it asks me for which windows do I want to log on, when I press 1 to go in and have WIndows perform the repair, I get the BLUE screen of death with the following error code. BAD_POOL_CALLER. I have tried different driver versions to no avail. I always end up with the blue screen. This also happens if I just try to reinstall Windows XP. I am at the end my rope here. HELP! |

Dai,
Thank you for your reply and your information about multiple postings. Couple of follow ups. At this time, I understand the BAD_POOL_CALLER error. The driver your pointed me to is for WIn 64. I am running WIndows XP 32. I have looked everywhere and found the 1.00.037 Fasttrak 378 driver and the 1.00.030 version as well. All of them end up with the BAD_POOL_CALLER error. I am assuming that the Win 64 driver would not work on XP 32. I am to the point where I am ready to throw this 4k machine away! Any other insight as to what I can do? |
