the drivers are part of windows, you need to post your actual problem it is probably not caused by the drivers
in the device manager uninstall the drives and reboot windows will reinstall the drives and the drivers, and i think you will find you still have the problem

the drives are unresponsive , they are getting power and the computer recognizing them to the point where it shows it device manager
however it show exclamation points next to them, upon clicking it says unable to load drivers for this device. driver may be missing or corrupt. even disconnected and reconnected still same problem i thought maybe it was the the way the drives were configured i can never remember the name of it , something "switch" heard that it is common on machines running more then just one optical drive, i tried switching and meesing with ide cables on board on drive even swapped for new ide cables however everything seems to be as it should tried running just one drive that was not successful also swapped in some completely different drives but still nothing.. does this problem sound familiar? i apologize for posting in this forum as well , originaly i thought that this was a driver issue, if you would like ill post in another.. thanks munoshi Last edited by munoshi; 01-11-2006 at 01:45 AM. |

check you have jumpers correct on the back of the drives
set one to master and the other to slave master goes on the end plug and slave to the middle plug of the eide cable the eide cable goes into the drive with the red line alongside of the power plug http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;314060 http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;320553
