Toshiba DVD-ROM problems
I recently acquired a DVD-ROM drive from a computer store. The drive is a Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-M1402. I put it in the computer and received no driver installation messages or anything. So I installed the Windows Essentials Media Codec pack. I have installed this on two other computers and it has worked just fine. This time, the DVD was really laggy. I wasn't sure if it might be a driver that is kinda working or what.

Re: Toshiba DVD-ROM problems
Some drives are slow. You can try removing/deleting the drive from Device Manager and reboot. If it's an IDE drive, try removing/deleting the IDE controllers from Device Manager and try rebooting.

Re: Toshiba DVD-ROM problems
I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled it. It didn't do anything so I reduced the screen resolution and that worked. But now the computer says that there are corrupted system files and that i need to use the windows cd to repair but it won't let me access the cd.
