cannot install printer driver
I'm running vista 32 bit and have a epson nx110 printer.
I used my printer with no problems for a while and after scanning a doc it quit working in the print mode. The scanner and copier still work fine but when I try to print it just sits in the que. The only way to remove the document is to stop and start the spooler. I tried all differents ways to delete the printer and uninstall the software but it never finished. I downloaded revo uninstaller and it finally removed the printer. Now I am unable to install the printer driver (tried from the disk and epson site), it says "windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attepting to install it". I have all the latest windows updates. Any ideas as to whats up? Thanks |

Re: cannot install printer driver
Is the printer disconnected when you try the install? If so, then I'd guess there are still remnants of the printer install in the registry. In which case, the only real fix is likely a fresh install of the OS. You can try manually searching and removing any references, just take the necessary precautions when messing with the registry.
