[SOLVED] Ethernet drivers?
Alleighty, so I'm stumped. I put a new Hd in today, went through installing windows xp, blah blah. However, I can't get onto the Internet at all. I can't even hit my router. Do I need some kind of Ethernet drivers or something? I installed the software for my mobo and still haven't resolves this issue. Whenever I try to log into my router IE tells me the search page cannot be found. I'm assuming this is some kind of driver issue, but I don't know what the problem could be. Anyone got any ideas? I don't know if my computer even knows the Ethernet cable is plugged in. All the LED lights are on. I'm stumped. Do I need some other kind of mobo drivers? I have a n750i sli ftw motherboard. It's evga, if that helps

Re: Ethernet drivers?
Yep, Other Decices has a yellow question mark next to it, and below that it says other PCI bridge and PCI device. They have yellow question marks as well.
Sorry for the double post before, I'm trying to do this from my phone. |

Re: Ethernet drivers?
Expand the Network Adaptor group and post what is there . . if nothing, Those are likely the network adaptors and/or modem . . you should be able to install the drivers from the disc that came with the motherboard

Re: Ethernet drivers?
Allright, well I downloaded the file evga told me to but that hasn't fixed the problem. I still have no network connections and I can't get into my router yet either. Interesting though is when I type in ipconfig on the cmd window, I get nothing back. It just says Windows IP configuration but there's nothing there. What does that mean?

Re: Ethernet drivers?
It means you have no network connection because you have no netwrok adaptor for it to use.
Is the network adaptor an onboard LAN or a PCI card?

Re: Ethernet drivers?
The cable is plugged straight into the motherboard through the port on the back of the tower. I guess it's onboard. I installed windows xp on an old computer I had sitting in my closet, and when it got done there was the small icon of the two computers in the bottom right corner next to the clock. I don't have that on this computer, is that because I have no network adaptor?
