MPEG codec? or is this what I need?

I have some movie files taken from a friends video camera.

They are in MPEG format.

I can view the video but don't get any sound.

I created a movie using WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER and still I have now sound. Just video.

I downloaded K-Lite codecs but still no sound.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Is the Audio in an MP2 or MP3 format?

You can use an app such as gSpot or MediaInfo
